General Studies

Readings in the Book of Psalms

Many tears of sadness and joy have been shed over the book of Psalms. Compiled by King David, the book of Psalms (Tehillim) has been collectively and individually recited throughout the ages by people offering praise and thanksgiving to G-d; or alternatively, in times of crisis, as a form of supplication and plea. Psalms also make up a bulk of the daily prayers in the Sidur. Join us as we delve into the history, beauty and mystery of the verses of Psalms. Students will be given selected readings to read which will then be discussed during the class.
